Quote and Reply to comments

We have introduced the ability to quote and reply to comments in the issue view.

The option is enabled by default and available to every application user. Jira administrators can disable it in extension settings.

Reply - this button will overwrite the existing content in the new comment field with the content of the comment we are replying to

Quote - this button will add a quoted comment to existing content in a new comment field

Ignoring user mentions

When you quote or reply to a comment, all mentions to users will get a notification.

Since version 6.8.0, you can change settings and ignore user mentions. For instance, if someone mentions you with the username [~username], it will be replaced with their Display Name.

This will prevent replies and quotes from sending email notifications unless a new user mention is added to the comment.
